Court Of Appeal Case
Immigration
Cameroon national challenged a village chief's authority, as a result of which his father was killed and his wife raped. The Immigration Judge arguably failed to address the basis of his claim, reconsideration was ordered by the High Court who found the adverse findings "tenuous", but the Senior Immigration Judge dismissed his appeal" without considering the High Court order but instead, making credibility findings of her own, without adjourning to a second stage to test the appellant's evidence. The Court of Appeal granted permission but dismissed the appeal (2-1); the SIJ had made errors but the IJ decision was allowed to stand.
